For a cheap car rental in Kampala or Uganda, you should look no further than a Toyota Rav 4. This vehicle is an SUV. It is small in size but highly raised from the ground and fit to go even in the villages with the most potholed roads. For a simple ride in the capital, this is the best car for you.
It has five doors and accommodates up to five people including the driver. For the self-drive standard, we recommend it for four people such that everyone sits just next to a window. We have both the Rav 4 with a manual and automatic transmission system. The most common is one with an automatic transmission system. They mainly consume petrol and as well have a four wheel drive system.

The Rav 4 is provided for hire at 45 USD per day and this excludes fuel. For those who take it for long term starting from one week going beyond, you receive a discounted offer and you can use it at 40 USD per day without fuel. Using this vehicle, you can visit the most tourist places in Uganda such as the National Park like Murchison, Queen, Bwindi, Mgahinga, Kibale National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, Mountain Rwenzori to name but a few. Is it good for Campers?
Yes, the vehicle is perfect to use for those who desire to go camping around Uganda. It cannot carry the rooftop tent, therefore the operator usually provides it with a ground tent and other necessary camping gear such the sleep bags, a table, chairs, cooking gas and utensils, a Jerry can and more.
Restricted areas for this vehicle
The only place you should not visit with this vehicle is the notable Kidepo valley National Park. This renowned protected area is found in the Northern part of Uganda. It attracts tourists with its rich wildlife and breathtaking views of landscapes. We don’t recommend the Rav 4 to go there because it can’t manage the slippery roads when it rains. The best cars for this place are the Land cruiser Prado and the V8.
