We only choose these types of vehicles because there are very strong and highly raised from the ground. Vehicles like Vans and the Toyota Rav 4 can’t afford to carry the rooftop tent.
The folding tent has an inbuilt mattress, ladders used to access and openings like a door and windows provided for ventilation. These tents are manufactured using material that is waterproof. Car break down: Once the car breaks down, don’t make any repairs before notifying the car provider. Mechanics in the field tend to charge huge sums of money for simple car problems. The field operator will contact a specific nearby mechanic to come and assess the car. He fixes the problem and after you proceed with the drive to your next destination.
Pick up & drop off locations: Once you book the car, the representative from the car rental company will deliver the vehicle at the Entebbe Airport or a certain hotel in Entebbe town or Kampala city. Delivery in Entebbe and Kampala is done at no extra charge. For distant places like Jinja, Mbarara, Masaka, Mbale, Kisoro, Kabale and Fort portal, expect to pay extra fees for fuel, driver commission and his bus ticket.
Where to find Fuel? Fuel stations are found everywhere in the cities and towns. Most roads in Uganda have petrol stations every after few kilometers. The fuel sellers include Shell, Total, Stabex, Rubis, Luqman and more. When you want to refill, just visit a station and say I want petrol or diesel depending on the car.

Speed limits & Traffic rules: Be careful while driving in Uganda. There is penalties for those who over speed or violate the traffic road rules. Make sure to know the speed limits. For Uganda, you can drive at 40 – 50 km/hr on the city roads and 80 – 90 km/hr along the highways. There is traffic officers along the roads who stop those over speeding. Once found doing so, you receive a penalty ticket. It indicates your name as the driver. So, you will have to visit the bank and pay this ticket.
Payment by credit card: Payment by use of a credit card is possible in Uganda but mainly in the cities and major towns. Once you go deep in the villages, you may fail to get service providers who accept payment by use of a Visa or Mastercard.
